The vast majority of children suffer from abdominal pain at some point in their lives, making it an extremely common condition. Despite this, in around 50% of cases that led to hospital visits no cause is found, which is referred as ‘non specific abdominal pain (NSAP) and, although the cause is unknown, we know that the issue will be resolved without any treatment within a week.
If your child is complaining of abdominal pain, we would recommend that you speak to a GP as soon as possible to rule out anything more serious.
