Childhood Gout - The Facts

Paediatric gout is very rare, but diagnostic tests have demonstrated that chronic persistent hyperuricemia in children can rise to monosodium urate deposits, which can proceed to gout, just as it does in adults.

In most cases though, instances of gout have been due to an underlying disease, so ruling this out is extremely important.
